Vietnam Adoptions Undergoing Changes

Thursday 15 November 2007 at 12:21 am With increased attention on the rising number of children being adopted from Vietnam, the U.S. government has stepped up its involvement. Recently the I-600 visa process was amended, potentially adding an additional 60 day wait for some families. With a reported rise in the number of Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) letters being issued to American adoptive parents, the new measures are intended to reduce the number of NOIDs by allowing U.S. immigration workers time to review the (adopted) child's documents prior to the family traveling to Vietnam to complete the adoption. For more information on this please go to the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov or click here.
