Adoption Program

China Waiting Child

Overview

Waiting Child Program

China releases special needs children (sometimes referred to as “waiting children”) with medically correctable special needs to select adoption agencies for placement. The Waiting Child Program was established by the Chinese to help place older children and children with special medical needs into special families. HIC is one of the agencies selected by the CCAA to find suitable families for Chinese children with special needs.

After receiving the child’s information from China, the HIC Adoption Team, consisting of the HIC Waiting Child Program Director and an HIC social worker, make the initial “match” between a family and the waiting child. Children from China classified as having “Special Needs” may have conditions such as cleft lip and palate, missing digits or hands, club feet, orthopedic problems, congenital heart disease, vision or hearing problems, and other conditions. The adoption process for China Special Needs Children is expedited by the CCAA.

History of Adopting Special Needs Children from China

Over the last four years, HIC has been successful in finding homes for older children or children with a variety of special needs and conditions. We owe our success to the many loving and nurturing families that have opened their hearts and their doors to these special need orphans. If you think that you are one of these loving and nurturing families, the HIC China Child Waiting Program could be your ideal adoption venue.
