The HIC Council

The Hawaii International Child (HIC) Council was designed to assist HIC management and staff in enhancing and improving services and client relations and programs. We rely heavily on the support and wisdom of this highly qualified group of experts that consists of parents who have been through the adoption process. The HIC Council meets regularly with the ED/CEO and HIC staff to discuss critical issues such as:

  • The HIC adoptive client experience
  • HIC client education
  • Trends in adoption
  • Parent/child issues
  • Support processes and helpful materials
  • Resources for adoptive parents and children
  • Current issues in adoption
  • Specific adoption program needs
  • Improving services to orphaned children

The HIC Council is also instrumental in reviewing and evaluating new client procedures and collateral.

The Friends of HIC

The Friends of HIC began in 2001 as a vehicle for organizing and recruiting HIC volunteers. Over the years, the Friends of HIC has been instrumental in supporting and organizing many HIC family events and activities. Check our calendar of events for upcoming activities.
